To this point I have identified three rhythms within the heartbeat of OT theology, each of which unpacks the basic self-declaration of God in the OT and its echoes in the NT: “I am Yahweh.”1 One focuses on Yahweh’s historical action, a second on Yahweh’s active character, and a third on Yahweh’s relational identity.
